Emilia Schlotterbeck

Emilia came to our attention and in 2018 at the Mustang Makeover we got to know her and the starting signal for the partnership was given. Since then we see each other regularly at trade fairs & events, Emilia has also visited us at spoga horse. Emilia is always uncomplicated and in a good mood, so that the regular exchange is just fun. ♥︎

How did I get into horses/ what is my "equine" background:

Horses have always fascinated me. At the age of 5 I started to learn classical riding in the riding school. 1x per week lessons on school horses. The dream of having my own horse was there from the beginning. My mother told me: If you ever win a prize with your violin, we will buy a horse. At that time it was unthinkable. But when I was 11 years old and won 2nd place at "Jugend Musiziert", there was no turning back! We bought Fanta and since then I've been at the stable every day. After school I spent half a year in Andalusia at the Hacienda Buena Suerte and came home with a third horse. After that I started my studies in horse management and during the practical semester I spent half a year with Uta Gräf and Stefan Schneider at the Rothenkircherhof. In the last years I have learned a lot. Through courses, through watching, through trial and error.... but most of all through my horses!

My absolute favorite horse:

I can't decide! <3

My most beautiful experience in connection with the horses:

When I rode alone with my then 4-year-old Faraon through the terrain of Andalusia. Without saddle and only with halter. That was simply wonderful. We always galloped up a hill together. Up there we had a fantastic view. I felt like I was in a movie.

What is important to me in handling, keeping and training horses:

Fairness and respect are especially important to me! My horses are all together in a large herd. They have enough space and can play with other horses, snooze in the sun, munch their hay or gallop around in the paddocks. I can't imagine it any other way. In training, I respond individually to each horse and adapt to its pace. My goal is always that the horses enjoy working with me.

Motto in life:

Fear kills dreams.

Personal tip for our followers:

Just spend time with your horses without asking anything of them. Just be with them. Observe them. Get to know them.

Biggest strength:

My determination and perseverance.

Biggest weakness:

I get very moody when I'm hungry. :D
