Presentation & tasks of the Holsteiner Association:
The Holsteiner Verband is one of the most important horse breeding associations in Europe and, proportionally speaking, one of the most successful in the world. Holsteiner horses have made history with top sport horses such as Zuccero HV, Uricas v/d Kattevennen, Monaco, Eylsium, Conner JEI, Cartello VDL, Casturano, Con Quidam and, above all, the living legend Casall.
The Holsteiner Verband is the only horse breeding association in the world to have its own stallion stud. This enables the Holsteiner Verband to offer its breeders many opportunities to obtain high-quality stallions at fair conditions and to secure valuable genetics for breeding. With the Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions GmbH, members have access to a comprehensive service for marketing their Holsteiner horses. With around ten auctions per year, an attractive platform has been created to bring sellers and buyers of our Holstein foals and horses together.
The Elmshorn location is not only a meeting point for Holstein breeders, but also promotes national equestrian sports through the regular holding of tournaments.

Is it possible to pay a visit to the association?

On one side of the grounds is the stallion barn, home to about 40 stallions - and those who want to become stallions. On the other side you will find three large indoor riding arenas and about 85 stalls, which are used for the auction horses and foals as well as for events.Which events take place at the Holsteiner Verband or are organized by the Holsteiner Verband?

- Holsteiner Horse Days with State Championships, Elite Mare Show, Foal Auction (June)
- Foal auctions at renowned auctions such as the Hamburg Derby, the Global Champions Tour in Berlin, the CSI5* tournament in Falsterbo during the National Championships and many more (May - August)
- Holsteiner Summer Event in Elmshorn, with elite foal auction and riding horse auction as well as a sale day for foals (August)
- Sales month for foals (online)
- Holsteiner licensing and elite riding horse auction (December)
- In addition, there are of course mare registrations and performance tests, licensing and foal registration dates as well as tournaments on the association grounds throughout the year.
Handling, keeping and training with the horse - what does the Holsteiner Verband stand for?
We stand for professional, individual handling of each horse. The horses are supported by a reliable, professional groom-rider-trainer team according to his level of training. Paddocks, a horse walker, generous grass areas for riding and grazing as well as three large outdoor arenas and four indoor riding arenas are available for optimal training and for the necessary variety.What is reported on the accounts:
On the Holsteiner Verband's social media channels, breeders, interested parties and fans of the Holsteiner Verband regularly receive information about the association's own stallions, our events, auctions and show results of Holsteiner horses worldwide. Furthermore, we always give our "community" insights, into the daily happenings like the training of the association stallions or on-site reports at the events.
